If you are planning to sell your current car and buy a new one then you will need to know your used car value. If you don’t take the time to find out your used car value then you could be missing out on a significant amount of cash. That’s because apart from people who are familiar with the car industry, most people don’t know what their used car value would be.
The problem with a used car value is that it will vary depending on how well kept the car is. You could have two cars of the same make, model and year being priced at a very different used car value because one has been kept in far better condition than the other.

The services you pay for will generally give you a more accurate used car value from more detailed information however, so you will need to weigh up whether you want your used car value to be spot on, or simply in the ballpark.
If you don’t want to spend the money to get an idea of your used car valuation, simply start searching for similar cars to yours online and in your local papers, to see how much they are selling for. This will enable you to get a good idea of your used car value, and you will be able to sell it for the right amount.
